Job Description

The Healthcare Billing Executive (IP) plays a crucial role within the healthcare industry, specifically focusing on the in-patient (IP) billing processes. This position is essential for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of patient charges, insurance claims, and billing procedures. The Healthcare Billing Executive is responsible for managing and processing billing information, coordinating with insurance companies, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. In addition, this role involves working closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and patients to resolve billing issues. A strong understanding of healthcare billing practices, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are vital for success in this position. As a Healthcare Billing Executive, your expertise will facilitate the financial operations necessary to support patient care and organizational sustainability.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire billing process for in-patient services and ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to obtain complete billing information for patients.
  • Review and analyze patient records to accurate charge coding and billing.
  • Work with insurance companies to verify patient coverage and benefits.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Stay updated on healthcare regulations and billing best practices continuously.
  • Provide detailed billing reports and updates to management as required.
  • Assist patients and families with billing inquiries and payment arrangements.
  • Interface with accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive patient billing information.
  • Support the implementation of billing process improvements and innovations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Health Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare billing or coding.
  • Proficient understanding of healthcare billing systems and insurance processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in billing operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in medical billing software and common office applications.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
