Roles & Responsibilities

The High School Music Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction in music theory, performance, and appreciation for students in Grades 9 12. The teacher will design and implement thoughtful lessons using UbD principles, assess student learning regularly, and provide timely, constructive feedback. Responsibilities include creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and musical expression, differentiating instruction to support diverse learner needs, integrating digital tools to enhance learning, collaborating with colleagues, communicating effectively with parents, and upholding all school policies and safeguarding procedures. Strong classroom management, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting students artistic and academic growth are essential.

  • Pedagogical Expertise: Ability to create interactive, age-appropriate lessons.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Music and preferably holding a post-graduate teaching certificate in education.
  • Programming experience is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of website programming.
  • Valid certificate(s) and 2 references must be provided.
