Job Purpose:

The Hostess is responsible for creating a warm, inviting first impression for all guests. This role involves greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating table seating, and assisting with guest inquiries. The ideal candidate will embody Malgudi’s values of hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism while ensuring efficient front-of-house operations.

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional welcome.
• Manage the reservation system, waitlists, and walk-in guest flow efficiently.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus with a pleasant demeanor.
• Coordinate seating arrangements to ensure smooth table turnover and service flow.
• Handle guest inquiries, phone calls, and reservation confirmations politely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host/hostess desk and entrance area.
• Assist in maintaining a calm and pleasant atmosphere during busy periods.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly or escalating them to the appropriate team members.
• Support front-of-house operations by assisting servers and management when needed.
