HSE Officer

International Community School - City Centre Campus

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in line with UAE regulations and ADEK requirements.

• Ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi Civil Defense , Municipality , and ADEK safety standards.

• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across the campus.

• Ensure all fire safety systems, emergency exits, alarms, and evacuation procedures are fully functional and compliant.

• Organize and lead emergency drills (fire drills, evacuation drills, lockdown drills).

• Maintain accurate HSE documentation, incident reports, and compliance records.

• Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures.

• Conduct HSE induction and training sessions for staff and contractors.

• Coordinate with external authorities during inspections and ensure timely resolution of observations.

• Promote a strong safety culture within the school community.

Requirements

• Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (QFE Level 7) in Health & Safetyspan> OR a Bachelor’s degree in another discipline with NEBOSH / IOSH certification

  • Minimumspan> 5 yearsu2019 experience in HSE, specifically within a high-risk environment

  • Proven experience in aspan> school setting (essential)

  • Strong knowledge of school health & safety systems, policies, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance

  • Familiarity withspan> ADEK andspan> ADPHC compliance requirements

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  Advantageous Qualifications:

  • Certified First Aider

  • Fire Fighting training certification

  • Training in Risk Assessment and Hazardous Substances Management

The candidate must be confident in implementing, monitoring, and enforcing HSE standards in line with regulatory authorities and internal policies.
