Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all employees working in the facility. To involves various risks and potential hazards, such as operating heavy machinery, exposure to chemicals, and handling perishable goods, to develop and implement effective health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate these risks and promote a safe working environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Risk Assessment
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments throughout the canning factory to identify potential hazards and unsafe working conditions.
- Collaborate with department managers to address and rectify any identified safety issues.
Operational:
- Develop and update comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the canning factory.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis management protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, training sessions, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to these policies.
- Stay up to date with relevant health and safety regulations, laws, and industry standards related to the canning industry.
- Ensure the canning factory's operations comply with all applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Lead investigations into any workplace accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine their root causes.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with health and safety regulations and the effectiveness of safety programs.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
- Oversee the proper selection, distribution, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) among employees.
- Ensure employees are trained in using PPE correctly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in health & Safety, Environmental, or a related any other relevant discipline
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in health & Safety, Environmental.
- Preferred to have a relevant certification (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH)
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety policies.
- Fluency in Arabic & English both oral and written
