Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Compliance and Regulation: Ensure all activities, including those of subcontractors, comply with Client HSE policies, local Omani legislation, and Client-specific safety rules.
Site Inspection and Audits: Coordinate and perform regular internal audits, site inspections, and safety walkthroughs to identify hazards.
Permit to Work (PTW) System: Actively manage the Construction Permit-to-Work system to control hazardous activities, such as working at heights, electrical isolation, or lifting operations.
Incident Management: Investigate accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Contractor Management: Verify that contractors and subcontractors follow QHSSE Management System (QHSSEMS) during mobilization, execution, and restoration phases.
Training and Promotion: Support and facilitate HSE training programs, conduct toolbox talks, and promote a positive safety culture.
Reporting and Performance: Monitor HSE performance, collate monthly safety statistics, and report on compliance status.
Emergency Response: Ensure effective emergency preparedness, including first aid, rescue, and evacuation procedures
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience: Generally requires extensive experience in HSE, with a strong preference for prior experience in Transmission or similar utility projects.
Education/Certification: A degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or similar) with mandatory certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, or IIRSM.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to influence safety compliance in a multicultural environment.
