Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Report functionally to the Operations Manager for daily site safety matters and administratively to the HSE Incharge on all HSE-related activities.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System and IMS.
Conduct regular site inspections, safety tours, and audits to ensure compliance with risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, and regulatory standards.
Issue non-conformance and corrective action reports, enforce safety procedures, and immediately stop and report any imminent danger.
Review and issue Permit to Work for high-risk activities (e.g., confined space entry, hot work, excavation).
Deliver HSE training, site inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills; ensure proper documentation and records are maintained.
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, and monitor corrective action closure.
Maintain HSE documentation, safety statistics, and monthly reports, while coordinating safety activities with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams.
Support internal and external audits and provide guidance on PPE selection and compliance requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelors degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, safety) or 5 years technical experience in construction site.
Should have OSHAD approval.
NEBOSH, OSHA or any other HSE training programs approved by Municipality.
First Aid Instructor level
Knowledge of health and safety legislation, mainly UAE.
Computer literate.
Must have at least 5 years of health and safety experience.
Ability to write technical reports and correspondence letters.
Knowledge of safety measures, equipment and technology driven products for health and safety
Excellent communication and listening skills
Excellent observational skills
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Proficient in English, Arabic and other Asian or European languages
