Job Description

An HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Specialist is integral to maintaining an organization s adherence to regulatory standards and promoting a culture of safety. The specialist plays a pivotal role in assessing risks, implementing safety protocols, and fostering awareness across the company. They work closely with management and staff to minimize hazards in the workplace, ensuring everyone understands safety practices and environmental responsibilities. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying or forecasting potential issues and efficiently strategizing solutions. As an HSE Specialist, you will be committed to improving health and safety measures that protect employees, clients, and everyone interacting with the organization while also safeguarding our environmental impact.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on safety performance and present findings to management.
  • Train employees on health and safety practices and proper equipment use.
  • Investigate incidents or accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with external agencies for safety audits and evaluations.
  • Design emergency response plans and organize regular drills for staff.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to prevent health hazards and accidents.
  • Analyze data and prepare metrics to track improvements in safety performance.
  • Coordinate waste management and recycling initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in health and safety practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a health, safety, and environment role.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards.
  • Certification in safety management, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess complex situations and develop solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
