Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection of faculty and staff.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the college environment.
- Maintain updated employee records and personnel files.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for staff queries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal college policies.
Performance Management
- Support the implementation of performance appraisal systems for faculty and staff.
- Assist managers in setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
- Recommend training or development initiatives based on performance evaluations.
Training and Development
- Identify staff training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
- Maintain records of training attendance and outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits Administration
- Assist in payroll coordination and ensure accurate implementation of salary adjustments, allowances, and benefits.
- Provide guidance on leave management, entitlements, and other HR-related matters.
HR Policy Implementation and Compliance
- Support the development, communication, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure all HR practices comply with labor laws, accreditation standards, and internal regulations.
Reporting and HR Analytics
- Prepare HR reports, including staff turnover, absenteeism, and other HR metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic HR decisions.
Any other tasks assigned by the Director of the department.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2 4 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
- Knowledge of higher education operations, faculty administration, and academic HR requirements.
- Familiarity with HR software, payroll systems, and HR reporting tools.
Technical / Work-based Skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience working with HRIS systems and HR reporting tools.
- Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills to manage multiple HR processes efficiently.
