Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s inventory to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely recording of stock levels. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless inventory flow, conducting regular audits, and implementing effective inventory control procedures.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise the incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and handling of inventory.

  • Prepare and present regular inventory reports, highlighting any discrepancies or areas of concern.

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitor & evaluate material utilization and scrap.

  • Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes Perform cyclic count stock checks.

  • Work closely with the finance team to reconcile stock discrepancies and resolve any issues.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.

  • Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks and activities that support the strategic plans set by higher management.

  • Work cooperatively with colleagues to achieve team objectives, fostering a supportive and cohesive work environment.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, operations, and procurement, to ensure efficient inventory management.

  • Implement and enforce company policies regarding inventory management.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Participate in opportunities to enhance job-specific skills and knowledge, aiding personal and organizational growth.

  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inventory procedures and systems.

  • Follow governance policies and procedures and assist in ensuring compliance with HR, legal, and risk guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the handling and storage of inventory.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Professional Experience and Educational Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of Inventory Controller experience in the warehousing sector in the UAE.

  • Proven experience as a storekeeper, inventory control, or similar role in a warehouse setting.

  • Proficiency in ERP & WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office is desirable. The role demands knowledge of shipping, inventory, and warehouse management, as well as flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods or inventory audits. Note that the position may require standing for long periods and working in varying temperature conditions within the warehouse.

Educational Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
