Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient irrigation systems tailored to specific crop needs and local conditions, ensuring maximum water conservation.
  • Preferably with experience in an automated irrigation system that uses a remote terminal unit (RTU) and precast components, integrating technology to manage and control irrigation operations with minimal human intervention
  • work in Abu Dhabi Island in the Municipality of Abu Dhabi project.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate soil moisture levels, topography, and existing water resources for optimal system planning.
  • Utilize advanced software for modeling and simulating irrigation designs, providing data-driven solutions for improved agricultural productivity.
  • Collaborate with agronomists and farmers to understand crop requirements and integrate irrigation plans that enhance yields and sustainability.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
  • Perform regular inspections and troubleshooting of irrigation systems to identify issues and implement timely repairs.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure efficient project execution and cost-effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor field staff on best practices in irrigation system operation and maintenance, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on the latest irrigation technologies and practices, integrating innovative solutions to improve water use efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation on irrigation projects, including design specifications, maintenance schedules, and performance evaluations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on water resources management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in irrigation design and implementation, preferably in agricultural or landscape settings.
  • Professional certification in irrigation design or management, such as Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) or similar qualifications.
  • Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) and hydraulic modeling software to enhance design accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design tools, enabling precise and efficient irrigation system layout.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess hydrological data and make informed decisions on irrigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in local languages being a plus for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage projects and teams, fostering collaboration and achieving project goals.
  • Physical ability to work in various outdoor environments and perform field assessments and installations as required.
  • A problem-solving mindset, capable of thinking critically and innovating solutions to complex irrigation challenges.
