Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role within our company's IT department by providing technical support and assistance to end-users on a variety of issues. This role requires someone who has a keen problem-solving mindset and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users. You will be expected to troubleshoot various hardware and software issues, maintain computer systems, and provide input on improving IT processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support and a passion for helping others. Your efforts will directly enable smooth IT operations, contributing to the overall productivity and efficiency of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users experiencing software and hardware issues.
- Respond to queries via phone, email, or in-person to ensure quick resolution.
- Diagnose system errors and implement quick solutions to minimize downtime.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems and network connections effectively.
- Assist in the installation and upgrading of software applications and operating systems.
- Document issues and resolutions for future reference within knowledge databases.
- Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to find innovative solutions to common problems.
- Conduct remote troubleshooting to provide support to offsite users as required.
- Provide training and guidance to users to help minimize common technical problems.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software components and recommend upgrades.
- Follow up with clients to ensure issues have been resolved to their satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar IT support role will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and various software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical terms to laymen.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple support tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
