Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our finance team in managing day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within trading or contracting companies, and a solid understanding of accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and VAT compliance.

This role is suitable for someone eager to grow in a dynamic environment while assisting with financial operations, documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely recording of invoices and payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, monitor transactions, and maintain accurate cash flow records.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, petty cash reimbursements, and expense reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation of receipts, invoices, payment vouchers, and related financial records.
  • Assist with VAT filings, ensure UAE tax compliance, and support audit requirements.
  • Manage inventory accounting, stock movement entries, and cost allocations (especially in trading/contracting setups).
  • Use accounting software (QuickBooks, Odoo, etc.) for day-to-day financial entries and reporting.
  • Support in monthly closing activities, financial reports, and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with procurement, sales, and operations teams for invoice clarifications and financial documentation.
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting tasks.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in trading or contracting companies.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, AP/AR, and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as QuickBooks and Odoo.
  • Familiar with UAE VAT regulations and basic tax compliance procedures.
  • Experience in inventory and cost accounting is an added advantage.
  • Good command of English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
