Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct precise measurements using specialized tools like total stations, GPS, and laser scanners to determine land boundaries and features.
- Prepare detailed site plans and maps that illustrate survey results to assist in construction, land use, and property development.
- Analyze survey data and perform calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide critical input on project design and feasibility.
- Research and interpret legal documents, property descriptions, and previous survey records to resolve boundary disputes.
- Utilize CAD software to create and modify survey plans and documents, ensuring they meet industry standards.
- Conduct topographic surveys to assess land contours, vegetation, and man-made structures for project planning.
- Stay updated on technological advancements in surveying and implement new techniques to enhance efficiency and precision.
- Assist in preparing project proposals and cost estimates, providing insights on timelines and resource requirements.
- Provide expert testimony in court regarding boundary disputes or survey-related issues when required.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential for technical knowledge.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or equivalent certification is highly preferred for credibility and compliance.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in land surveying, showcasing expertise in various surveying techniques.
- Experience with CAD software and GIS applications is crucial for creating accurate survey maps and plans.
- Proficiency in using advanced surveying instruments, including total stations and GPS equipment, is required.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data accurately and make informed decisions based on survey results.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrains.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of additional languages is a plus for diverse project environments.
