Laundry - Runner Rosewood Hotels and Resorts

OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:

The Laundry Runner is responsible for the collection, transportation, and delivery of hotel linen, uniforms, and

guest laundry between the laundry, linen rooms, uniform rooms, and operational departments, ensuring timely

movement and proper handling in accordance with Rosewood brand standards and departmental SOPs.

The role is operational and support-based, contributing to smooth laundry operations by ensuring that clean an

soiled items are moved efficiently, safely, and accurately.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collection & Transportation

• Collect soiled linens, uniforms, and guest laundry from designated areas as per schedule
• Transport laundry items safely using carts, trolleys, or racks to and from the laundry
• Deliver clean linens and uniforms to Rooms, F&B, Spa, Public Areas, and Uniform Rooms
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to support daily operational flow
• Ensure timely delivery and collection to avoid operational delays

Handling & Sorting Support

• Assist with basic sorting of laundry items as instructed (clean vs. soiled only)
• Ensure items are transported without damage, loss, or contamination
• Separate damaged or heavily soiled items and report them to the Laundry Supervisor
• Handle guest garments discreetly and with care

Guest Laundry Support

• Collect and return guest laundry items according to laundry tickets and instructions
• Ensure accurate matching of guest garments with corresponding laundry documentation
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling guest laundry

Linen Room & Work Area Support

• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of linen rooms, corridors, and service areas
• Ensure laundry carts, racks, and trolleys are kept clean and in good condition
• Store clean and soiled items in designated areas only

Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Follow all health and safety procedures related to manual handling and transportation
• Use PPE as required and follow hygiene standards
• Avoid overloading carts and follow safe lifting techniques
• Report safety hazards, damaged carts, or blocked service areas immediately

SOP Compliance & Teamwork

• Follow departmental SOPs, brand standards, and grooming requirements
• Follow instructions provided by the Laundry Supervisor and Assistant Laundry Manager
• Work cooperatively with laundry and housekeeping teams to support operations
• Attend briefings and training sessions as scheduled

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Accountable for timely and accurate transportation of laundry and linen
• Accountable for proper handling and care during collection and delivery
• Accountable for following SOPs, safety procedures, and instructions
• Accountable for maintaining cleanliness of carts and work areas

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping, laundry, or porter/runner roles

preferred

• Education: High school diploma.
• General Skills: Ability to follow instructions; basic organizational skills; reliability;

attention to hygiene and cleanliness; ability to work as part of a team.

• Technical Skills: Ability to safely use laundry carts and trolleys; understanding of basic

manual handling techniques.

• Language: Require to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages

preferred.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull laundry carts; stand and walk for extended

periods; perform repetitive physical tasks.
