Roles & Responsibilities
Expected:
- ISCED Level 6 Bachelor s (minimum) degree or Level 7 Masters (preferred) in an engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer or engineering chartership preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent qualification preferred
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Incumbents typically require significant (10 years+) broad relevant industry project execution experience, preferably with construction site experience
- Deep understanding of technical work scopes and commercial aspects of projects
- Able to use conditions of contract to support decisions on schedules, key milestones and change management.
- Has good working and application knowledge of specifications and standards;
- Extensive experience in delivering to internal customers, including other Engineering disciplines
- Familiar with change management practices and able to robustly manage change
- Has an expert knowledge of standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart; developing skills in project and technical execution
- Expert ability in application of the procedures and work practices which define and govern Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables
- Able to lead Project Engineering team; able to manage between Engineering Discipline Groups
- Good communicator in leading work effort; motivates team; strong positive and active in solutions and proactive attitude
- Competent at managing technical matters and interfaces with Third Parties
- Able to manage and enhance performance and build effective teams

Key Objectives
Supports delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s) through tactical leadership of an assigned project engineering team from a commercially astute position, utilising good coordination and sound technical skills. Manages and drives completion of the engineering deliverables for an assigned project to schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications and standards, focused on both internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Oversees a team of project engineers to coordinate a complex series of activities performed by engineers, designers and others from multiple engineering disciplines or departments.
- Schedule oversight, planning and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project
- Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
- Alerts Project Manager in the event of potential delays or change; identifies and implements change
- Coordinates and assures technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables
- Coordinates, guides and mentors other Project Engineers in the management of work scope
- Manages interfaces between engineering disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work.
- Takes a lead role in planning engineering work, verification of design, and assuring compliance with quality and HSE requirement
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Project Deliverables
- Oversees a team which manages and coordinates engineering multidiscipline inputs and deliverables across multiple execution centres including workshare / high value engineering centres
- Appraises the Project Engineering team of the key execution principles and the contractual basis of the project
- Prepares Discipline Design Instruction; prepares and checks Project Engineering Manpower Plans; prepares multidiscipline contract requisition scopes.
- Prepares and checks Project Engineering Manpower Plans.
- Interfaces with discipline managers for resources
- Prepares multidiscipline contract requisition scopes
- Creates and implements work plan for discipline and inter-discipline interfaces; identifies key dates, milestones and deliverables, drives for completion; manages forecasts.
- Creates work share plan.
HSE, Quality and Assurance
- Checks compliance with Project Quality System; able to audit projects; proactively drives team.
- Ensures Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) reviews are planned and implemented; supports initiative
- Manages the development of project specific procedures
- Responsible for assuring quality of engineering deliverables before issue to customer
Development and management of schedule
- Creates and implements work plan for discipline and inter-discipline interfaces; identifies key dates, milestones and deliverables, drives for completion; manages forecasts.
- Resolves escalated delays and changes, ensures recovery plans are implemented and reviewed.
- Creates work share plan.
Design Verification
- Drives and participates in Design Verification; drives others to complete; Understands risk and mitigation requirements
