Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Source and procure food ingredients and raw materials from local suppliers to meet production requirements.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure optimal value and timely supply.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent quality and service.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as production, quality assurance, and logistics to align purchasing activities with operational needs.
- Track inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and related documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery delays, quality discrepancies, or invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new ingredient developments in the food industry.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proficiency in managing Purchasing Processes, Purchase Orders, and Purchase Requisitions
- Strong Contract Negotiation skills
- Excellent Analytical Skills for cost assessment and procurement strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- At least 3 years of experience in packaging and labeling procurement (food)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Previous experience in the food ingredients industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
