Job Purpose:

To provide dedicated personal assistance, nursing care, and companionship to an Alzheimer’s patient. The role combines medical support, personal assistance, and daily living aid to ensure the patient’s comfort, safety, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Medical Support

• Provide round-the-clock supervision, ensuring patient’s safety at all times.
• Administer prescribed medications accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor vital signs, health conditions, and promptly report changes to family/doctor.
• Assist with medical appointments, physiotherapy, and follow-ups.
• Manage emergencies calmly and effectively, following medical protocols.

Personal Assistance

• Support with daily personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing).
• Assist with mobility, walking, and use of aids (wheelchair, walker, etc.).
• Accompany patient during outings or hospital visits.
• Prepare and serve meals as per dietary requirements.
• Maintain patient’s living environment clean, safe, and organized.

Emotional & Cognitive Support

• Provide companionship and engage in conversation/activities suitable for Alzheimer’s care.
• Assist with memory stimulation exercises, reminders, and daily routines.
• Offer reassurance and patience during confusion, mood swings, or anxiety episodes.

Household & Administrative Support

• Assist with light housekeeping related to patient’s needs (laundry, room tidiness).
• Keep records of medication, health status, and daily activities for family/doctor reference.
• Manage schedules and communicate effectively with family members and medical staff.
