About the Role

Alpha Star Shipping is looking for a smart, motivated, and execution-focused Management Trainee – Strategy & Operations to work closely with senior management at its Dubai office.

This role is designed for a young professional who wants practical exposure to logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing, 3PL, ERP systems, and business growth.

Based in Dubai, the candidate will get exposure to the UAE logistics ecosystem, Jebel Ali Free Zone, international freight networks, global trade lanes, and the fast-growing global 3PL and warehousing market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Strategy

  • Support management in identifying new growth opportunities across freight forwarding, warehousing, 3PL, land freight, and ship spares logistics.

  • Assist in preparing business plans, customer proposals, presentations, and feasibility studies.

  • Conduct market and competitor research for logistics, warehousing, and 3PL services in the UAE and global markets.

  • Help prepare pricing models and commercial analysis for new business opportunities.

2. JAFZA Warehouse & Global 3PL Development

  • Support the commercialization plan for Alpha Star’s new warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.

  • Assist in preparing customer targeting plans for 3PL and warehousing services.

  • Study 3PL opportunities across local UAE customers, international traders, freight forwarders, network partners, and global supply chain clients.

  • Track warehouse utilization, customer onboarding, revenue, and profitability.

  • Help create customer onboarding checklists, SOPs, and service reporting formats.

3. Operations & Process Improvement

  • Study existing processes across sales, operations, warehouse, accounts, and customer service.

  • Identify delays, gaps, duplication, and areas for improvement.

  • Help document SOPs and improve workflow clarity between departments.

  • Follow up with teams on key action points and pending tasks.

4. ERP & Digital Transformation

  • Support ERP implementation, testing, documentation, and user adoption.

  • Work with users and the development team to convert business requirements into clear process notes.

  • Track ERP-related pending tasks, bugs, improvements, and user feedback.

  • Help build reports and dashboards for management visibility.

5. Management Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for senior management.

  • Analyze customer-wise revenue, gross profit, shipment volume, warehouse utilization, and outstanding trends.

  • Help create dashboards for sales, operations, accounts, warehouse, and management.

  • Convert raw data into simple insights that support better decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

  • Strong follow-up and ownership mindset.

  • Ability to work with data and prepare simple business insights.

  • Interest in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, 3PL, and global trade.

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams.

  • Willingness to work hands-on and understand ground-level operations.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Fresh MBA / BBA / Supply Chain / Operations / Business Management graduate.

  • Candidates from reputed business schools preferred.

  • Internship or project experience in logistics, supply chain, consulting, operations, warehousing, e-commerce, or international trade will be an advantage.

  • Should be practical, humble, eager to learn, and execution-focused.

  • Should be comfortable working in a growing family-managed business.

  • Should be willing to work closely with both senior management and ground-level teams.

  • Should be interested in building a career in logistics, global 3PL, warehousing, and supply chain management.
