Roles & Responsibilities

About the role

Reporting to the Divisional Vice President of Cabin Crew Training, the Manager Crew Training Digital Learning Operations will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of digital learning platforms and initiatives for crew members within Cabin Crew Training College, ensuring they align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The role will collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technology teams to design innovative learning experiences, monitor performance metrics, and optimize digital tools and platforms.

What you will do:

  • Immersive Technology & VR/IXR Development: Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of VR/IXR training simulations and immersive reality experiences tailored to crew training needs. Ensure that immersive learning modules align with organizational training goals and meet industry safety and compliance standards. Identify emerging trends in VR/AR technologies and propose innovations to enhance crew training effectiveness.
  • Digital Learning Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision for digital learning solutions, integrating VR/Immersive Reality technologies for crew training. Lead and manage the team responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of immersive training capability and training platforms/hardware.
  • Hardware Management: Oversee the maintenance and readiness of digital learning hardware, including VR systems, servers, and workstations. Collaborate with SD Business Support and IT teams to ensure seamless setup, troubleshooting, and timely upgrades to meet training needs.
  • Content Development & Optimization: Lead a team in the design, development, and customization of IXR/VR training modules, ensuring content is relevant, accurate, and aligned with training objectives. Collaborate with subject matter experts in the design and produce high-quality immersive training experiences. Continuously evaluate and improve digital learning content based on feedback from trainees, instructors, and performance data.
  • Training Delivery & Support: Oversee the delivery of immersive crew training sessions, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of user engagement and effectiveness.
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the successful execution of VR/IXR projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and performance targets are met. Manage relationships with external vendors, including hardware suppliers and software developers, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within scope. Ensure that all projects are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the budgeting and allocation of resources for the digital learning operations, including hardware procurement, software development, and training staff. Lead the transformation of cabin crew training through cutting-edge digital platforms, including e-learning and virtual simulations, to enhance learning effectiveness and scalability. Spearhead the design and implementation of innovative training solutions, leveraging technology to drive continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Completed Degree or Honors (12+3 equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Computer science, or a related discipline and/or any other relevant field of study.
  • 10+ years of experience in In-flight services / In-flight administration / Training & Development, with expertise in IT and digital innovation.
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects.
  • Experience in introducing new capabilities and supporting organisational change.
  • Experience in process improvement and design.
  • Experience in managing a cross-functional team.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships and communicate and collaborate effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive consensus, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proven ability to effectively work in an agile environment and ability to handle uncertainty.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies with experience using project management
  • Software tools for planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for pushing the boundaries of and driving change.
