Roles & Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

  • The Manager, Human Rights Compliance is responsible for implementing and embedding a risk-based approach to human rights management, including due diligence, audits, investigations, remediation, reporting, and awareness. The role works closely with Legal, Procurement, Sustainability, Risk, and Human Capital to ensure alignment between compliance, ESG, and responsible sourcing objectives.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Lead and manage under the guidance of Compliance mandate the development, implementation and ongoing evolution of Majid Al Futtaim s Human Rights Framework in line with internal principles
  • Conduct human rights risk assessments and due diligence across operations, supply chain and business relationships based on a review of suppliers that are considered as high and medium risk
  • Monitor and report on human rights performance indicators to Sustainability team, Senior management or Board, including grievance mechanisms and remediation outcomes
  • Develop and maintain a human rights risk mitigation plan and conduct regular audits across the region
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to embed human rights considerations across all relevant Policies and Procedures
  • Design and deliver training and awareness programs tailored to diverse audiences, including suppliers and frontline workers
  • Lead and manage implementation and monitoring of overall compliance initiates and policies such as gifts and hospitality, third party compliance audits, conflicts of interest etc
  • 2. Support the Compliance team with compliance monitoring ,reporting activities and compliance investigations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in human rights compliance and investigations experience in the Middle East and Africa region. Additional compliance experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting interviews and accommodation reviews with expertise in regulatory requirements governing fire safety, life safety, health and safety reviews
  • Experience in designing, delivering, and monitoring training and awareness programs on human rights compliance standards for building internal and supplier capacity for continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply frameworks of international compliance standards, and of human rights framework
