• Shop Drawing Review: Verifying technical drawings to ensure marble patterns (veining), joints, and thickness align with architectural intent.

• Cutting Lists: Preparing detailed "cutting lists" for the factory to minimize wastage of expensive slabs.

• Material Take-offs (BOQ): Calculating the exact quantities of marble, granite, or engineered stone required for flooring, wall cladding, or vanity tops.

• Fixing Systems: Determining the appropriate installation method (e.g., wet-fix with mortar vs. dry-fix with mechanical anchors for heavy facades).

2. Site Coordination & Supervision

• Site Measurements: Taking physical "as-built" dimensions on-site before fabrication to ensure the stone fits perfectly.

• Subcontractor Management: Supervising masons and specialist installers to ensure they follow the approved layout and leveling standards.

• Dry-Lay Inspections: Organizing "dry-lays" (arranging marble pieces on the floor before fixing) to get client approval on color blending and vein matching.

3. Factory & Procurement Liaison

• Material Selection: Visiting quarries or warehouses to inspect and approve raw slabs for quality, cracks, or color variations.

• Fabrication Monitoring: Coordinating with the factory team to track the progress of water-jet cutting, polishing, and edge detailing (mitered joints, bullnose, etc.).

• Logistics: Ensuring stone is packed securely (using A-frames or crates) to prevent breakage during transit to the site.

4. Quality Control (QA/QC)

• Visual Inspection: Checking for natural defects like "vugs" (holes), fill-work quality, and consistency in stone "shades."

• Tolerance Checks: Ensuring that joint widths and surface flatness meet strict luxury standards (often within $1\text{mm}$ to $2\text{mm}$ tolerances).

• Protection Management: Overseeing the post-installation protection of marble to prevent staining or chipping during the rest of the construction phase.

5. Documentation & Project Controls

• Progress Reporting: Documenting daily installation rates and reporting delays to the Project Manager.

• Snagging & Handover: Identifying and fixing "snags" (e.g., uneven tiles or dull spots) before final handover to the client.

• RFI Management: Raising "Requests for Information" when site conditions conflict with original stone designs.
