Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist Electrical Managers and Engineers in executing electrical jobs in the THP workshop.

  • Carry out installation, modification, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and components on oil & gas and marine equipment, including but not limited to:

o Motors, starters, contactors, MCCs, control panels and distribution boards.

o Lighting systems, power and control circuits, battery systems and small UPS units.

  • Perform cable pulling, glanding, lugging, ferruling, routing and termination to THP and customer standards.

  • Conduct functional tests, insulation resistance checks and continuity checks and record test results as per job requirements.

  • Support execution of planned maintenance, corrective maintenance and refurbishment activities on workshop skids, power packs and THP assets.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and update mark‑ups / as‑built information for engineers where required.

  • Ensure tools, test equipment and consumables are used correctly, kept in good condition and returned to the designated storage areas/THP stores.

  • Provide technical feedback to supervisors/engineers on faults, risks, spares required and improvement opportunities.

  • Support mobilization and demobilization of equipment for projects, including pre‑dispatch testing and inspection.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical / Marine Electrical / E&I or equivalent.

  • Additional certifications in marine electrical systems, industrial electrical maintenance or EX (ATEX / IECEx) equipment will be an added advantage.

    • 4–7 years’ experience as an Industrial / Marine Electrician in oil & gas, shipyard, marine repair, offshore, or heavy industrial environment.

    • Hands‑on experience with:

    o AC and DC systems, motors and motor starters, MCCs, distribution boards, battery chargers and UPS.

    o Installation, termination and testing of cables, glands, junction boxes and panels on skids, containers and marine equipment.

    o Troubleshooting faults using multi meters and other test instruments, reading and interpreting electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and wiring schematics.

    • Exposure to marine systems such as winches, cranes, thrusters, hydraulic power packs and lighting circuits are preferred.

    • Familiar with EX / hazardous area equipment (lighting, junction boxes, motors) and basic understanding of IEC / ATEX requirements.

    • Basic computer skills for reading drawings, completing job cards, time sheets and service reports (MS Office / PDF viewers / CMMS).


      • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills on complex electrical systems in workshop and field conditions.

      • Ability to work from job scope sheets, P&IDs, electrical schematics and OEM manuals with minimal supervision.

      • High standards of workmanship, cable routing, termination and panel wiring – “right first time” mindset.

      • Good communication skills in English; ability to coordinate with engineers, supervisors and mechanics.

      • Team player with a positive attitude, able to support multiple jobs and priorities in a busy workshop.

      • Safety‑conscious, disciplined and able to follow procedures, permits and lock‑out/tag‑out requirement.
