Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our consultancy team. The candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems for a wide range of building projects, working closely with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop HVAC systems (chilled water, VRF/VRV, DX, ventilation, smoke management). • Design plumbing, water supply, drainage, and sewage systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings. • Design firefighting systems including fire hydrants, sprinklers, hose reels, and fire pumps. • Prepare mechanical layouts, schematics, calculations, and detailed drawings in accordance with local and international codes. • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing. • Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, and electrical teams. • Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and tender documents. • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals. • Provide technical support during construction and attend coordination/site meetings. • Ensure compliance with authority regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements. Required Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant consultancy experience in building projects. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems. • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit MEP experience is an advantage). • Familiar with international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IPC, local authority standards). • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. • Strong coordination and communication skills.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant consultancy experience in building projects. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems. • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit MEP experience is an advantage). • Familiar with international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IPC, local authority standards).
