Roles & Responsibilities
A Mechanical Lead at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is responsible for leading mechanical maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations and outages. This includes developing and implementing maintenance plans, supervising technicians, performing troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with nuclear regulations and safety standards. Key responsibilities involve planning and executing maintenance work, coordinating with engineering, and mentoring junior staff, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and extensive experience in the nuclear power industry typically required.
Desired Candidate Profile
Key responsibilities
• Lead and supervise: Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance teams during both normal operations and planned outages.
• Maintenance execution: Oversee planned and corrective maintenance on various mechanical systems and components, including the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment.
• Work package management: Develop and implement work packages, procedures, and schedules for mechanical activities.
• Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical systems and components in a timely and correct manner.
• Coordination:Coordinate with engineering, operations, and other departments to resolve issues and manage schedules.
• Safety and compliance: Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with nuclear regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Training and mentoring: Train and mentor junior technicians in mechanical systems and operations.
• Outage support: Support outage planning, execution, and post-outage evaluations.
Required qualifications
• Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Experience:Typically requires 7-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and leadership roles within a nuclear power plant.
• Skills:Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills, with a thorough understanding of nuclear power plant mechanical systems.
