Duties & Responsibilities:

• Following up with the doctors the completion of incomplete medical records by organizing the specified cards.
• Classification of diseases, operations, and surgical procedures according to the system approved in order to extract the international code of every disease, operation and procedure.
• Organizing and keeping the indexes of diseases, operations, and doctors.
• Helping the doctors and facilitating their tasks to carry out scientific research and studies by using the information available in the medical records department.
• Supervising and periodically inspecting the filling system.
• Preparing any required medical statistics by using the indexes of diseases, operations, and doctors.
• Carrying out any other tasks charged to him within his field of specialization.
• Comply with CBAHI standards, CHI standards, ICD-10, ICD-11, ACHI, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Integrity national and international guidelines.

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

• Medical Coding Diploma by SCFHS or equivalent training.
• Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Information Management or Health Information Management Certification with a clinical background (AHIMA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical coder.
• Exceptional knowledge in medical coding, ICD-10, ACHI, CHI (Daman) regulations, insurance companies and TPA specific codes, English language, and medical terminology.
• Current SCFHS registration or professional experience.

Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge of regulations established by Saudi Commission for Health Specialties related to health-care practices.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise of hospital medical-records practices including medical records ethics, classification, nomenclature & health information management services.
• Skills to operate technology equipment and web application software related to the position.
• Abilities to improvise operational efficiency, budget plans, interdisciplinary collaboration, and medical records management.
