Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Overall independent incharge of all MEP services for MEP project sites.
2. Raise material requisitions for all MEP services for procurement as per the project scope.
3. Review shop drawings with respect to the design (tender) drawings for compliance with the design intent and provide feedback with appropriate comments/ approval.
4. Review MEP shop drawings in conjunction with the structural and mechanical engineers, coordinators to ensure engineering co-ordination.
5. Review MEP services material proposals/ submittals against specified technical performance requirements and advise on the appropriateness of the proposals/ submittals.
6. Visit and attend project sites to monitor and ensure progess, quality and safety of works.
7. Prepare, review and obtain consultants approval of method statements.
8. Monitor and ensure compliance of MEP logs like shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, WIRs etc. and material delivery tracking.
9. Attend meetings and interacting with design consultants, supervision consultants, main contractor and client for all MEP engineering, construction, testing & commissioning activities.
10. Draft letters related to construction/ commercial issues and coordinating for submission.
11. Prepare progress percentage and coordinate for monthly billing submission.
12. Monitor and ensure scheduled compliance of work progress for MEP activities.
13. Guide, lead, assign work and monitor progress of MEP site teams of Foremen/ chargehand/ workers.
14. Review IRs and coordinate with supervision consultants for approval.
15. Review design omissions/ discrepancies, raise RFIs and resolve with main contractor/ consultants.
16. Track all MEP work progress at site as per approved baseline program and update program in coordination with main contractor’s project planner.
17. Arrange training for client’s representative.
18. Certify subcontractor payments.
19. Coordinate with draughtsman for modification/ changes at site, redlining for IR submissions and submission/ approval of as-built drawings.
20. Manage MEP services costs within budget.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. The candidate shall be a Graduate/ Diploma Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer.
2. The candidate shall have 6 to 10 years of total experience (min. 4 years in Gulf countries) in estimation/ design/ construction/ testing & commissioning of MEP services of building projects/ fitout works in restaurants/ kitchens/ public areas.
3. The candidate shall have working knowledge/ experience of project documentation and communication with the project manager/ consultants/ contractors.
4. The candidate shall have working knowledge of Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ AutoCAD/ Outlook Email software.
5. Adherence to working instructions and procedures in accordance with the company’s Integrated Management System Policy.
