Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor the merchandising team to meet sales and distribution targets.
  • Conduct regular store visits to monitor stock levels, product rotation, and merchandising standards.
  • Execute in-store promotions, sampling campaigns, and seasonal activities.
  • Coordinate with sales, supply chain, and production teams to ensure timely product availability and freshness.
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to optimize product assortment and shelf placement.
  • Maintain cold chain compliance and ensure proper storage and handling of frozen products.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on store performance, team productivity, and stock status
  • Oversee and optimize product placement strategies to maximize visual appeal and drive sales, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and make informed merchandising decisions.
  • Manage and motivate a team of merchandisers, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to assess merchandising execution, identify areas for improvement, and ensure consistency.
  • Prepare and present merchandising reports, summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing insights to senior management.
  • Manage the merchandising budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective implementation of merchandising plans.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3–5 years in merchandising within FMCG, preferably in frozen food
  • At least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with merchandising software or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Exhibits a solid grasp of inventory management techniques and sales data analysis, including the ability to interpret reports and identify trends.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of retail industry dynamics, including product categories, consumer behavior, and visual merchandising principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve merchandising challenges.
