Why This Role Matters

The Marine Method Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that complex marine construction works are planned and executed safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with design, contractual, and operational requirements. By bridging the gap between engineering and construction teams from tender stage through project delivery, the role drives constructability, optimizes construction methodologies, and ensures that appropriate sequencing, equipment, and temporary works are defined early. This position directly supports project performance by reducing risks, improving coordination across disciplines, and translating technical concepts into practical, buildable solutions that enable safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution.

What You’ll Drive

Constructability Studies

  • Participate in the design coordination process across all disciplines (Structural, MEP, specialist systems) to provide Methods insight and ensure constructability.

  • Propose alternatives and/or adjustments to the design that would facilitate construction.

  • Identify design risks early and drive resolution through technical workshops and alternative solutions.

Execution Methodology

  • Coordinate with technical, execution, and planning teams to define the construction methodology, logistics, equipment, and sequence of works.

Site Facilities

  • Define the required site facilities, including precast yard, carpentry and steel yard, welfare facilities, site offices, and the like.

Shop Drawings & Technical Submittals

Lead the preparation, review, and coordination of:

  • Method Statements

  • Shop Drawings related to methods and temporary works

  • Coordinate with the HSE team to ensure consistency of Risk Assessment documentation.

Temporary Works Procedures

  • Define and implement the Temporary Works Management Plan in line with Company Guidelines.

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Ensure implementation of the Project Management Plans (HSE Plan, DMP, CMP).

  • Set clear priorities, deliverables, and deadlines for the methods team.

  • Ensure compliance with BESIX governance, quality systems, and reporting standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a construction-related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in large-scale marine construction developments, preferably in Design & Build projects.

  • Demonstrates experience in shop drawing and Method Statement production and approval workflows, as well as logistics, storage yard, and precast yard organization.

  • Has knowledge of marine equipment, lifting equipment, and piling equipment.

  • Has prior experience in the Middle East.
