Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Taking care of pregnant women during their follow-up in the hospital.
- Examining the hospitalized (in the delivery section) pregnant women according to the work procedures.
- Observing and evaluating the delivery cases and reporting to the supervising doctor when necessary.
- Observing the cases and periodically taking the vital signs and recording them in the patient medical file.
- Offering comprehensive nursing care to the patients.
- Giving medicines and injections according to the prescription of the treating doctor.
- Assisting the doctors during the daily rounds.
- Assisting the supervising doctor in the delivery room.
- Offering the necessary medical care after delivery and observing the cases in the resuscitation room.
- Examining the newborn babies and performing the necessary procedures during their stay in the nursery.
- Assisting the mothers and instructing them on how to take care of their babies.
- Taking the necessary specimens and sending them to the laboratory.
- Supervising the mother after delivery and instructing her about cleaning and sterilization means.
- Performing any other instructing works such as dressings, cleaning wounds, giving oxygen and inserting venous solutions.
- Assisting the unable hospitalized patients to take bath or food or any other necessary assistance.
- Applying the principles and rules of general safety.
- Performing any other duties assigned for her within her field of specialization.
- Comply with CBAHI standards and other regulations.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.
- Minimum of 1-year experience for non-Saudis.
- Special training in the midwifery practice.
- Current Registration in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as a Registered Nurse / Midwife or at least dataflow is done.
- For supervisory positions such as a head nurse or in-charge nurse, minimum 2-3 years of managerial experience is needed.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP, certification is required according to the specialty and relevant training.
Skills and Competencies:
- Good knowledge of medical equipment used in delivery sections.
- Knowledge of regulations established by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties related to healthcare practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
