Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The role focuses on the execution and oversight of switching operations and load transfers through method of procedure (MOP), standard operating procedure (SOP), and emergency operating procedures (EOP). The Engineer will collaborate with the data center operations team to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the switchgear and power distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform switching operations and load transfers according to MOP, SOP, and EOP.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot MV/LV switchgear and related equipment.
  • Conduct regular testing and preventative maintenance on switchgear components.
  • Analyze and resolve electrical system issues, including fault finding and equipment repair.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other engineering and operations teams.
  • Participate in the development and review of MOPs and SOPs.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of all switchgear operations, maintenance, and testing.

Desired Candidate Profile

The MV/LV Switchgear Engineer Level 2 will serve as a subject matter expert for medium- and low-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems, playing a critical role in ensuring safety, reliability, and maximum uptime within data center operations in the United Arab Emirates. This on-site, contract position is suited to a seasoned electrical professional with approximately 10 years of overall experience and at least 6 years of directly relevant experience, supported by a Bachelor s degree in an engineering discipline.
