OPERATIONS CLERK asyad

Perform safe handling of cargo, delivery and sorting as per standard and procedures. Assisting Operation supervisor in assuring smooth operations and safety at workplace.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Make sure that cargo is received and delivered as per the official documents.
• Coordinate with customers for delivery and receiving of the right cargo.
• Supervise the offloading staff during the process of offloading the cargo and make sure that it is properly stacked in the yard.
• Tally and update cargo at gate, yard, or ship. Cargo tally and inspections both at the quay side and storage.
• Ensure that cargo is carefully inspected and counted during offloading before being accepted in the yard.
• Timely delivery and receiving and proper sorting of cargo.
• Keep a separate record for any damaged cargo received and report to the operation supervisor.
• Assure safety of cargo and handling operations.
• Coordinate and control the activity of equipment operators and report any issues with equipment.
• Maintain and update cargo records and filing.

Supervising the following business operations:

• Ship operations – discharging and loading.
• Quay operations – handling cargo at quay including segregations, loading of delivery trucks, receiving of export cargo alongside the ships.
• Quay transfer operations – moving discharged cargo from quay to storage and moving export cargo from storage to quay side for cargo handling.
• Cargo delivery from storage, cargo receiving at storage and proper storage of cargo.
• Bearing the responsibility of compliance of HSSE requirements which include the following:
• Safe ship handling.
• Safe cargo handling on shore and storage.
• Any other activities in connection with port operations as directed by Port In-charge.
