Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues proactively.
- Maintain detailed records of employee hours, deductions, and benefits to support accurate payroll calculations.
- Prepare payroll reports for management, offering insights into labor costs and budget forecasting.
- Collaborate with HR to manage employee status changes, such as new hires, terminations, and promotions, ensuring all payroll updates are executed flawlessly.
- Administer employee benefits and deductions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies and provide clear explanations for deductions and withholdings.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that impact payroll processing and ensure timely adjustments.
- Assist in year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and filing, as well as coordinating audits with external tax professionals.
- Implement and maintain payroll software systems, identifying areas for improvement in efficiency and accuracy.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential to understand complex financial concepts.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in payroll accounting to ensure familiarity with diverse payroll systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced corporate environment is crucial for adapting to changing payroll needs and processes.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance issues related to payroll is vital for minimizing legal risks.
- Excellent analytical skills to dissect payroll data and identify trends or discrepancies that require attention.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools to manipulate payroll data effectively.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey payroll information and resolve employee concerns efficiently.
