Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring timely project completion. This role involves coordinating with multiple departments, optimizing resources, and preparing reports to support decision-making and claims.
Key Accountabilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Set targets for the design team for timely completion and submission of shop drawings.
- Define milestones and ensure timely submission of QA/QC documents, including material and method statements.
- Identify potential risks/delays and prepare mitigation plans to keep the project on track.
- Prepare extension of time (EOT) claims and support variation orders to obtain necessary approvals.
- Develop a mitigation program in case of contractor delays to maintain project timelines.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with the NOC Engineer to expedite the approval process from relevant authorities.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to prepare and justify prolongation cost claims where applicable.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, and clients to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Coordinate with the tendering team to prepare and submit a baseline schedule for bids.
- Follow up with team members on open tasks, rising issues, and critical activities.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports to track project milestones and KPIs.
- Maintain dashboards for internal and external reporting on project progress.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide data-driven insights to management.
- Prepare contractual letters for project-related matters and claims.
- Deliver presentations to clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders on project performance.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in project planning and scheduling, preferably in landscaping, infrastructure, or irrigation projects.
- Primavera P6 and MS Project (Mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, and project planning tools.
- Expertise in FIDIC contracts, EOT claims, and UAE authority regulations.
