Roles & Responsibilities

Position: Planning Engineer


Job Overview:

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the planning,

scheduling, and control of projects. This includes ensuring that all planning documents are

issued on time, maintaining project schedules, identifying delays, and ensuring projects are

completed within budget and on time. The role involves collaborating with various teams to

ensure smooth execution of the projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and provide tools for planning, scheduling, and project control.

  • Ensure timely issuance and updates of planning documents for all projects.

  • Support engineering, construction, and maintenance with planning services.

  • Collaborate with project and design engineers to develop activity plans.

  • Create and update project schedules, incorporating resource loading.

  • Collect data for progress updates and highlight potential delays or constraints.

  • Develop and maintain project master schedules and track project status.

  • Ensure projects follow established control procedures and scheduling standards.

  • Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and use CPM/PERT for detailed scheduling.

  • Monitor project progress, ensuring milestones are met within the budget and timeline.

  • Forecast progress and assess the impact of changes or delays.

  • Review contractors’ project control deliverables and reports.

  • Coordinate meetings to review project progress and resolve concerns.

  • Issue regular status reports to clients on project progress, concerns, and adjustments.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in Engineering & Construction or related

fields.

  • Strong knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project, etc.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to analyze and forecast project progress.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


Experience Required:

  • Six (6) years’ experience in major oil/gas projects in a similar position
