Position: Engineering Specialist (Maritime – Power & Propulsion)
Department: Projects / Operations
Reports To: Maritime Project Lead / Maritime Head of Operations
Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist (Maritime – Power & Propulsion) to support naval Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities.
The role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising propulsion and power-generation systems to ensure vessels remain safe, compliant, and mission-ready.
The position initially supports project mobilisation and transitions into operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Support development of technical scopes and work packages for maintenance and overhauls
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, generators, gearboxes, shaft lines, and propulsion systems
Diagnose propulsion and power faults using OEM diagnostics and condition monitoring tools
Support dockings, defect rectification, sea trials, and performance testing
Maintain technical documentation and configuration control
Ensure compliance with naval standards, class requirements, and OEM guidance
Analyse performance data (fuel consumption, oil analysis, vibration, MTBF)
Support reliability-centred maintenance and lifecycle optimisation
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience (Mandatory)
Minimum 5+ years in Naval / Maritime MRO or Marine Engineering roles focused on Power & Propulsion
Strong hands-on experience with diesel engines, generators, gearboxes, shaft lines, and propulsion control systems
Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-system faults
Experience in shipyard, dockside, or operational naval environments
Strong understanding of class rules, OEM maintenance philosophy, and MRO controls
Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engine manuals
Maritime MRO experience is mandatory.

Education (Mandatory)
Bachelor’s or Postgraduate Degree in Marine Engineering or related Engineering field
Preferred Certifications / Knowledge
Marine Engineering certification (e.g., STCW III/1 or III/2 or equivalent)
Experience with waterjets, CPP systems, hybrid propulsion, or IPMS
OEM training (e.g., MTU, MAN, Caterpillar, Wärtsilä, or equivalent)
Engineering / Quality Management Systems knowledge
Project Management exposure
Middle East experience preferred
