Job Purpose

The Primary Performing Arts Teacher (Years 1-6) at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park holds a pivotal role in shaping and delivering an innovative and dynamic performing arts curriculum for primary students aged 5 to 11. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive, creative, and energetic learning environment that nurtures students passion and skills in music, dance, and drama. Working within a large, diverse international community, the teacher will contribute to the school s vision of excellence, global learning, and inclusivity by inspiring students through high-quality performing arts education.

In this unique opportunity, the teacher will collaborate closely with a counterpart and operate under the leadership of the whole school Head of Performing Arts and Primary Specialist Coordinator to deliver a new broad, engaging performing arts curriculum. The role supports the school s commitment to nurturing creativity, confidence, and cultural appreciation in line with its values and inclusive ethos.

Requirements

  • A high-quality degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary teaching experience.

  • Performing Arts Expertise: Strong subject knowledge and practical skills across music, dance, and drama, with the ability to bring these disciplines together effectively within a primary curriculum.

  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching across Key Stages 1 and 2, delivering a rich, engaging, and inclusive curriculum.

  • Ability to work closely and harmoniously with the other primary performing arts teacher, sharing responsibilities and complementing each other s strengths.

  • Passionate about nurturing young learners, fostering curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning.

  • High expectations that motivate, challenge, and support students to achieve their full academic, social, and personal potential.

  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that positively impact student engagement and achievement.

  • A confident, reflective practitioner who collaborates effectively within a year group or phase team.

  • Committed to the wellbeing and holistic development of every child, creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment.
