Roles & Responsibilities
Here at Omnium, we've been tasked with supporting the commercial delivery of one of Riyadh's most ambitious and transformative giga-projects and we re now looking for a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Director to be a critical part of its success.
This is a unique opportunity to be seconded into the client's office in Riyadh and lead the procurement function for a project of unprecedented scale and complexity. You will be responsible for creating and executing a robust procurement strategy that ensures value, efficiency, and quality across all stages of the project.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Develop, lead, and implement the project's entire procurement strategy, from concept through to completion, aligned with the client's vision and project goals.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including strategic sourcing, tender preparation, negotiation, and contract finalisation for all goods, services, and subcontracts.
- Manage a complex and dynamic supply chain, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to cost volatility, material availability, and logistical challenges.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including the client, project teams, and a global network of suppliers and contractors.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, compliance, and innovation.
- Implement best-in-class procurement practices and technologies to drive cost savings, enhance efficiency, and ensure transparency.
- Report directly to senior leadership on procurement performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a significant portion in a senior or director-level role within the construction or real estate sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing procurement for large-scale, complex projects, preferably in the Middle East.
- Deep knowledge of procurement principles, legal frameworks, and contract management in the construction industry.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage high-value contracts and build strong supplier relationships.
- Strategic and analytical mindset, capable of developing and executing a long-term procurement vision.
- Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or on a giga-project is a significant advantage.
- A relevant bachelor's or master's degree in a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) are highly desirable.
