Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain for a beverage company. This includes
managing the procurement, production, inventory, warehousing, logistics and distribution of alcoholic products. The manager will work
closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics operations. The manager will establish and lead day-to-day
procurement and logistics business activities, in accordance with agreed upon policies, goals, and objectives. The role would require
obtaining optimum efficiency and economy of operations. In addition, develop strategic short-term and long-term plans to cover operations,
inventory maximization and logistics planning & performance.
Strategic Goals:
· Assist in developing and provide inputs towards strategic goals for the
complete supply chain management (procurement & logistics).
· Assist in developing and implementing supply chain strategies to
optimize inventory levels, transportation, and distribution.
· Ensure short-term, mid-term and long-term goals in terms of setting up
of operations (procurement & logistics), customer satisfaction and
quality of service.
· Demonstrate competencies in relation to business orientation, strategic
thinking, executive maturity, entrepreneurial drive, and execution
excellence.
· Identify and help to develop the business model depending on the
market segments the company intends to serve.
· Assist in identification of the organizational structure for supply chain
division based on the strategies developed.
· Identify and help develop company goals and deliverables with proper
key performance indicators as per industry standards.
Inventory Management:
· Inventory Planning and Forecasting: Analyzing historical data and
market trends to forecast demand.
· Developing inventory plans to ensure adequate stock levels while
minimizing holding costs.
· Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to align inventory with
promotional activities and sales forecasts.
· Inventory Control and Optimization: Establishing and maintaining
optimal inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress, and
finished goods.
· Implementing inventory control systems and procedures to track
inventory movement and accuracy.
· Identifying and addressing inventory discrepancies and losses.
· Optimizing inventory turnover and reducing obsolete stock.
· Inventory Management Systems: Utilizing and managing inventory
management software and systems (e.g., ERP systems).
· Ensuring data accuracy and integrity within inventory systems.
·· Leveraging technology to automate inventory processes and improve efficiency.
· Supply and Demand Balancing: Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components. · Monitoring production schedules and adjusting inventory levels accordingly.
· Responding to fluctuations in demand and supply to maintain inventory balance.
· Identifying and mitigating inventory risks, such as stockouts, overstocking, and obsolescence.
· Developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
· Managing safety stock levels to buffer against unexpected demand or supply variations.
· Performance Monitoring: Tracking and reporting on key inventory performance indicators (KPIs), such as inventory turnover, stockout rates, and inventory accuracy.
· Analyzing inventory data to identify areas for improvement. · Implementing corrective actions to optimize inventory performance.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
- 5+ years of experience in a supply chain or logistics role, preferably in the beverage industry
- · Experience using supply chain management software, ERP systems and tools.
- · In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts and negotiation terms.
- · Good understanding of beverage sectoral business and its operating environment.
- · Adequate knowledge of procurement and tender board regulatory norms and procedures.
- · Knowledge of and experience in strategic planning, new business development and operations.
- · Management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
- · Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- · Highly organized and detail oriented.
- · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- · Proactive and self-motivated.
- · All round computer literacy in modern procurement & logistics systems.
- · Experience in the beverage industry or FMCG.
