Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Product Owner - Platform at Emirates NBD, your role is to drive the end-to-end implementation of core back-end platforms, with a primary focus on OMS (Order Management Systems) and PMS (Portfolio Management Systems), ensuring seamless integration with other applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and maintain the product roadmap, including planning epics, writing user stories, and managing backlog refinement to ensure the product evolves in line with strategic objectives.
- Actively participate in sprint planning, coordinate sprint reviews, and oversee testing activities to drive continuous improvement and ensure quality deliverables.
- Guide and recommend product design implementation in partnership with solution architect
- Manage & closely coordinate with IT, external vendors (if required), testing resources & other key project stakeholders
- Review the IT design documents & functional specifications to ensure there are no gaps between business requirements & functional specs
- Track and report on key deliverables, risks and prioritization
- Ensure timely, error free & successful delivery of all projects related to the platform.
- Overseeing the implementation of projects/initiatives, minimizing disruptions, and facilitating a smooth launch for internal and external users.
- Adhering to agreed timelines ensures that strategic objectives are achieved
- Based on research & market best practices, refine existing features for the platform
- Design screen mockups by talking to end users, understanding the processes & system integrations involved & making the complete end to end journey fit into a very friendly front-end experience
- Participate and be an active player in defining the strategic roadmap for Group Digital Wealth.
- Create project business case for senior management approval clearly showing ROI & additional value generation.
- Gather user feedback and lead the implementation of improvements, additions and enhancements to the system.
- Be an active player for an environment where innovation naturally thrives through trust, collaboration, and team empowerment.
- Inspire the team to confidently pursue bold ideas and embrace experimentation.
- Stay ahead of global digital technology trends and encourage the team to propose impactful solutions for the Wealth Management business.
- Craft clear business cases that highlight both ROI and added value from innovative strategies.
- Lead with passion for user problems, promoting a culture of feedback, continuous learning, and deep user empathy.
- Champion user-centricity, encouraging every team member to take ownership of both the problem and its solution
- Monitor, track & analyze usage, turnaround times (TATs), system response times and other similar dimensions of the utilizations of the system.
- Coordinate with IT to resolve critical system issues or application downtime, make necessary escalation if required to ensure minimum customer impact.
- Manage overall architecture of the platform in collaboration with the technology teams
- Develop, motivate and mentor a high performing Team.
- Manage career path and employee satisfaction.
- Lead by example and give timely feedback to team members on areas of improvement and provide necessary motivation for excellent Team performance.
Skills and Experience
- Graduate in Engineering, Computer science, Business, Information system, Economics
- At least 5 years of experience in banking
- 3+ years of experience in building integrations with multiple vendors and partners
- 3+ years of experience within wealth management, digital banking or fintech
- Understanding of investment products, operational flows, risk assessments and customer experience
- International exposure is a plus
- Research skills, problem-solving strengths
- Proficient in tools, mainly Jira, Confluence, Figma and Excel
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent technical, analytical and user experience skills in order to help design the products and experiences end to end
- Ability to communicate insights in an engagement with stakeholders at various levels
- Experience in front-end and back-end integration, ideally within financial services.
- Strong understanding of OMS/PMS workflows and architecture.
- Knowledge of risk management tools and systems, particularly those supporting Lombard lending and derivatives trading.
