Production Manager - FLOUR MILL MAIR GROUP - P.J.S.C

Role A flour mill manager oversees all daily operations to ensure efficient production of high-quality flour while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include managing production staff, supervising machinery and maintenance, controlling inventory, ensuring food safety compliance (like GMP and HACCP), and managing costs and quality to meet company targets. They are also responsible for the hiring, training, and performance management of mill personnel.

Responsibilities

Production and Operations:

• Set daily production priorities and schedules to meet targets.
• Ensure all products meet company standards and specifications.
• Monitor and maintain plant machinery, coordinating with maintenance for repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain production reports.
• Maintain and develop plant design if and where necessary.

Quality and Food Safety:

• Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation (including GMP, HACCP).
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Promote a positive food safety and EHS culture.

Occupational Health Safety and Environment

• Identify unsafe areas and initiate corrective action.
• Ensure personnel are practicing safe work standards.
• Ensure the hygienic conditions are implemented and maintained.

Personnel and Management:

• • Supervise, train, and mentor mill staff in all aspects of their duties.
• • Manage personnel, including hiring, and appraising performance.
• • Implement mentorship programs to develop the staff and recommend staff promotions.

Inventory and Logistics:

• • Maintain and order stocks of raw materials (like wheat and grains) and packaging.
• • Ensure the timely dispatch of finished products to meet customer and sales targets.
• • Implement effective wheat turnover program in the silos

Cost and Performance:

• • Ensure budgetary targets are met and take action to control costs.
• • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive efficiency and cost reduction.

Communication:

• • Liaise with other departments like sales, quality control, and marketing.
• • Manage customer relations regarding orders, complaints, and communication.
