Roles & Responsibilities

Location: Sadat City, Egypt On site (Factory)

Work Model: 3 shift operation; flexibility required

Role Purpose

  • Own day to day performance of the assigned production section (e.g., confectionery/chocolate/biscuit cake/coating & packaging) to deliver safe, hygienic, high quality output on plan while continuously improving OEE, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate daily/weekly plan into executable line schedules; manage sequencing and SMED changeovers considering capacity, labor and material constraints.
  • Achieve volume, yield and scrap targets; drive Schedule Adherence and OTIF performance.
  • Enforce food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, allergen control, CCP records, metal detector/X Ray); exercise stop authority for any risk.
  • Ensure EHS compliance (LOTO, guarding, PPE, emergency drills); lead incident/near miss reporting and root cause actions.
  • Run daily Gemba; monitor OEE losses (Availability Performance Quality); lead A3/Kaizen to close gaps.
  • Manage shifts, training and competence matrices; uphold onboarding and SOP/WI standards.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance on PM shutdowns, breakdown priorities, lubrication/cleaning/calibration; champion TPM and 5S.
  • Balance RM WIP flow; implement pull/Kanban with warehouse and planning.
  • Validate parameters for NPIs/trials; secure first pass yield at launch and hand over to routine production.
  • Report daily/weekly performance (OEE, scrap, downtime, labor productivity, waste); drive timely CAPA closure.
  • Maintain audit readiness for ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, ISO 45001 and customer/social audits.
  • Control costs: track energy/compressed air/cooling/coating consumption; verify recipe weights/grammage; govern rework/hold releases with QA.

Authority
  • Stop the line and quarantine product on food safety/EHS/major quality risks.
  • Co approve rework/hold releases with QA; assign shifts and reallocate manpower as needed.
  • KPIs
  • OEE 65 75% by line/section with consistent positive trend.
  • Schedule Adherence 95%; OTIF 98%.
  • FPY improvement; lower scrap/expedites; improved inventory hygiene.
  • GMP/Hygiene 90%; swift closure of non conformities.
  • EHS: declining incident/near miss rates; strong LOTO/5S audit scores.
  • Customer complaints per million and return rate within targets.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Industrial/Food/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years in FMCG/food manufacturing with 1 year people leadership (shift/line/section).
  • Solid process knowledge across confectionery/chocolate/biscuit cake and packaging lines (cookers, depositors, cooling tunnels, enrobing, flow wrappers, VFFS, checkweighers, metal detectors).
  • Proven, hands on application of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000; practical LOTO, 5S, TPM, SMED, Kaizen experience.
  • Analytical skill in OEE & downtime analysis, root cause (5 Why, Ishikawa) and A3/CAPA reporting.
  • ERP/MES exposure (SAP PP preferred); strong Excel, Power BI a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication; comfortable managing 100+ headcount shift operations.
  • Languages: English at working level preferred.
  • On site presence in Sadat City; flexibility for peak periods and audits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean/Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt) or TPM certifications.
  • Food safety internal/lead auditor certificates.
  • Demonstrated EHS leadership on the shop floor.
