Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Project Engineer – Water & Wastewater Treatment is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements. The role involves close coordination with clients, consultants, vendors, and site teams to ensure successful project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Support execution of water and wastewater treatment projects, including STP, WTP, RO, UF, MBR, and sludge handling systems
Review and coordinate engineering drawings, P&IDs, process layouts, and technical specifications
Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
Monitor site installation of mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation works related to treatment plants
Ensure compliance with process design, quality standards, and HSE requirements
Assist in the preparation and tracking of project schedules, progress reports, and milestones
Review vendor submittals, technical datasheets, and method statements
Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations and FAT/SAT coordination
Identify technical issues and support troubleshooting during installation and commissioning
Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities for approvals and inspections
Assist in testing, commissioning, performance guarantees, and project handover
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering
5–7 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment projects (EPC / O&M / utility)
Strong knowledge of water & wastewater treatment processes and equipment
Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and technical specifications
Familiarity with international standards and local authority regulations
Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
Strong coordination, communication, and reporting skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with STP, WTP, desalination, industrial wastewater, or reuse projects
Knowledge of RO membranes, pumps, blowers, clarifiers, filters, and dosing systems
Experience in commissioning and performance testing
PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage
Experience in GCC / Oman projects is preferred
