Roles & Responsibilities

The Project Management Specialist will support the Project Management Office (PMO) with portfolio tracking and reporting, including data-driven insights and dashboard development whilst being detail-oriented and analytically strong. This role requires a solid foundation in project management principles, a strong business understanding of Data & Analytics functions, and hands-on experience in BI tools and reporting. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing the PMO with visibility into project health, portfolio performance, and operational effectiveness through reliable data, reporting, and analysis.

In this role, you will be:

  • Fully accountable for the development and maintenance of a the Project Management Knowledge Centre (centre of excellence) including the introduction of best practice taxonomy, cataloguing of the library of project management material and management of the Project Management Office's extensive library of research documents, papers and key lessons learned.
  • Responsible for carrying out specialist research and analysis of industry best practice in programme and portfolio standards and ensuring alignment with the competency development programmes, advising the EK Group on the design of new Project Management Tools & Techniques.
  • The Job is accountable for leading a number of business project teams (Projects up to a value of 50 million AED's), preparing solutions to project challenges in line with good Project Governance Standards. and assisting in the delivery of these projects within cost and time estimates.
  • Build Group wide competency through the design and delivery of basic, intermediate and advanced project management programmes, advise EK on the best blended learning approach (lE-learning programmes, Class room training and External programmes) that optimises delivery of Project Management Programmes.
  • Responsible for developing and negotiating service level agreements (targets) with business unit managers that support the project management competency development programmes and ensuring the adherence of the Project Support Office to the Service Level Agreements.
    Accountable for influencing the EK business in developing their Project Management requirements in line with industry standards and designing project skill enhancement programmes to support the business development of project management best practice.
  • Accountable for the continuous revision and content management of the Project Management Training assessment approach, utilising the TNA tool to assess the level of skill maturity within EK Group and develop and deliver programmes of work to address these gaps.
  • Responsible for the design and delivery of regular metrics packages that identify the maturity and trends of Project Management competency development at both an individual and business unit level.

Desired Candidate Profile

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience and one or more of the following project management certifications: Certified CAPM and/or PMP Certified and/or PRINCE 2 Practitioner
  • Relevant experience working on projects and ideally with exposure to project management coaching and mentoring within a customer facing role and / or relevant experience of interacting with all levels of staff in a professional manner within a formal project environment
  • Proficient in spreadsheets (MS Excel), word processing (MS Word), presentation (MS PowerPoint), project scheduling (MS Project), workflow (MS Visio), e-workspace (SharePoint Portal Server 2003)
  • Communication skills
  • Coaching skills
  • Excellent planning, communication, verbal, written, presentation skills and report writing skills are essential
  • Demonstrable experience in coaching and mentoring of individuals and groups of individuals up to senior management level
