Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Purchase Supervisor’s tasks shall include, but not limited to the following:

Ø Initiating the evaluation and re-evaluation of prospective suppliers

Ø Maintaining the Approved Suppliers’ Register (with back-ups)

Ø Monitor the performance of approved suppliers

Ø Receive input form user-departments and make necessary entries on each supplied service

Ø Inform Quality Dept of feedback on supplied service which does not meet requirements

Ø Ensuring that orders are received within shortest possible time

Ø Ensuring that requisitioner is informed of any setbacks in timely receipt of supplies

Ø Any other functions as the Supply Chain Manager may so assign.

Desired Candidate Profile

Ø Purchaser is required to have adequate market knowledge on marine and specially Ship Repair,

Ø Understanding of technical purchase requests related to Ship repair and industrial in general ,

Ø Very good communication and negotiating skills

Ø Considerable ability to prioritize work, research files, and problem solving.

Ø Ability to type and enter information into an automated system with speed and accuracy,

Ø Suitable data processing and good document control skills

Ø Ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.

Ø Ability to organize purchase requests and meeting Company purchasing requirements

Ø Know UAE Ports’ rules and regulations regarding import/export

Ø Previous purchasing experience
