Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 or company standards.
  • Prepare and update Quality Plans, Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for joinery and fit-out works.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections for timber, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware, finishes, adhesives, and accessories.
  • Verify compliance of materials with approved submittals, samples, and technical data sheets.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Production Managers, Factory Supervisors, and Site Engineers on quality matters.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, approvals, NCRs, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare Inspection Requests (IRs) and ensure timely approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, BS, EN, local authority requirements).
  • Ensure products meet fire rating, environmental, sustainability, and safety requirements where applicable.
  • Analyze recurring defects and quality issues to identify root causes.
  • Propose improvements to manufacturing processes, materials, and inspection methods.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Wood Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in factory and site quality control for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry, joinery materials, finishes, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, details, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic quality management software/tools.
  • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality auditing principles is an advantage.
