Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality checks during finishing house operations for writing and printing paper.
  • Perform pre-dispatch inspections and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain paper testing instruments such as microfiche readers, dirt count testers, and metric gauges.
  • Evaluate cutting quality parameters, including dimensions, rough cutting, dressings, paper sticking, and curling.
  • Inspect and ensure proper packing quality for reams, cartons, and wrapping materials.
  • Monitor reel handling quality in rewinder, folio, and reel wrapper sections.
  • Conduct physical, chemical, strength, optical, and printability tests on paper samples.
  • Report any quality deviations to the Section Head - QA and assist in corrective action implementation.
  • Maintain testing and inspection records accurately in the SAP and MES systems.
  • Manage laboratory assets and ensure compliance with CLRI and 5S standards.
  • Carry out special sample testing as per defined work instructions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Paper Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 2 4 years of experience in paper manufacturing or finishing operations.
  • Hands-on experience with paper testing and quality inspection instruments.
  • Working knowledge of MES and SAP systems.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and report quality deviations effectively.
