Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test incoming raw materials (fragrance oils, alcohol, essential oils, chemicals, packaging components).
  • Verify supplier certificates of analysis and ensure compliance with internal specifications.
  • Approve or reject raw materials and packaging before production.
  • Monitor production processes for perfumes, deodorants, and cosmetic products.
  • Conduct in-process testing (viscosity, density, pH, refractive index, alcohol content, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP, and hygiene standards in production lines.
  • Identify and troubleshoot deviations during production runs.
  • Perform quality checks on final perfume batches (appearance, stability, fragrance consistency, filling levels, labeling accuracy).
  • Approve/reject finished goods before release to market.
  • Ensure packaging (bottles, caps, labels, cartons) meets visual and functional quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed QC records, test reports, and inspection logs.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE/GCC regulations and international cosmetic standards (IFRA, ISO, GMP, EU, US FDA).
  • Support audits and certification processes (ISO 22716, GMP, HACCP).
  • Develop and update quality SOPs.
  • Work closely with R&D, Production, and Regulatory teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Train production and QC staff on quality standards and testing methods.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in quality assurance.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments (GC, HPLC, density meters, pH meters, refractometers).
  • Conduct stability and compatibility tests for new and existing products.
  • Monitor safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of QC experience in perfumes, cosmetics, or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of fragrance chemistry, raw material testing, and cosmetic regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments (GC, HPLC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with IFRA guidelines and international safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
