Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, ensuring accurate measurement, cost estimation, and financial control throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee the preparation and review of detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts, incorporating risk analysis and value engineering strategies for optimal project outcomes.
- Conduct thorough analysis of tender documents, contracts, and variations, providing expert advice on contractual matters and mitigating potential financial risks.
- Manage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Prepare and present regular cost reports, including variance analysis and earned value management, to stakeholders, providing clear insights into project performance.
- Implement and maintain robust cost control systems, ensuring accurate tracking of project expenditures and proactive identification of cost overruns.
- Provide expert advice on contractual claims, disputes, and settlements, protecting the company's financial interests and minimizing potential liabilities.
- Develop and implement QS procedures and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maximizing the efficiency of the QS function.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing cost-related support and contributing to the overall success of the projects.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in quantity surveying, continuously improving skills and knowledge.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, demonstrating a solid academic foundation.
- Holds relevant professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, AIQS), showcasing commitment to professional standards and ethical conduct.
- Demonstrates a minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Exhibits extensive experience within the construction industry, with a deep understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities, fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, ensuring effective communication with international stakeholders.
- Demonstrates expertise in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft), and other relevant QS tools.
- Exhibits strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills, enabling effective team management and stakeholder engagement.
- Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying and resolving complex cost-related issues.
- Exhibits a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to achieving project goals and delivering exceptional results.
