WAREHOUSE QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR (APPAREL/FASHION INDUSTRY)


Position Overview

A Warehouse Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector in the apparel industry ensures finished garments meet brand specifications, quality standards (e.g., AQL), and compliance requirements. They inspect incoming/outgoing inventory for defects, perform random sampling, manage packing quality, and document results to prevent defective products from reaching customers. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Incoming/Outgoing Inspection: Inspect incoming shipments and inventory for damage, defects, quantity discrepancies, and compliance with purchase orders and quality specifications

  • Quality Auditing: Perform random final audits, often using Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) standards to accept or reject shipments.

  • Defect Identification: Check for stitching, fabric defects, color, fit, labeling, measurements and construction errors.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed inspection logs, document non-conformity, and provide quality reports to management.

  • Packing Inspection: Verify accuracy in packing, including labels, SKU, sizing, and quantity to ensure proper final dispatch.

  • Corrective Action: Collaborate with HOD or warehouse teams to resolve quality issues. 


Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

·        High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or training in quality assurance is preferred

·        Garment Construction Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabric types, stitching, and garment manufacturing processes.

·        Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in measuring tools (e.g., tape measures) and understanding tech packs.

·        Attention to Detail: Ability to detect minor defects.

·        Experience: Previous experience in garment quality control (often 2-5+ years, depending on the level).

·        Tools: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or basic computer skills for reporting.

  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Quality Assurance or Quality Control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector)

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in relevant industries.

  • Experience operating measuring and testing equipment.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment with exposure to variable temperatures, noise, and physical demands. May require occasional work on weekends or during peak operational periods.
